Matti Studio / Zodya / Yentl / Naya AbrinWe Will Not Go Back To the Margins28.8.2025 - 31.8.2025
More and more, trans people are being used as scapegoats and portrayed as a threat to society. Far-right politics are using unjust laws to push us back to the margins. Little do they know that we are here to stay and not going anywhere. We will not go back to the margins. We will be steadfast, together with other marginalized groups, and fight back. Until we are all free.
The title of the exhibition is inspired by a powerful speech by Carla Antonelli, a Spanish Trans politician. Love Foundation Brussels & Espace Vanhomwegen are collaborating and showcasing Matti Studio’s latest works, as well as performances, an evening dedicated to music, workshops, live painting, and poetry readings.Matti Studio is a queer, trans, intersectional artist and activist who paints between the edges of chaos and release. Their work unravels and reconstructs bodies -human and non-human - through raw forms that bleed, stretch, and resist containment. Matti Studio gets inspired at the intersection of queerness, ecology, and liberation and seeks to visualize the duality in life; tenderness and rage, chaos and care, love and hate.Zodya (Orbiting souls/ Love Foundation/ Club Commission Berlin)Zodya has been organising cultural events and spinning records in Europe and beyond since 2013.
